Tulio M. Santos, M.Sc., Ph.D. - Biotechnology and Molecular Biology
 

Tulio Santos, M.Sc., Ph.D., is owner and founder of UNICLON, a Brazilian Biotech company dedicated to developing and producing industrial enzymes for in vitro diagnostics. He is also an Associate Consultant at ENZYTEC. Tulio M. Santos earned his Masters and Ph.D. Degrees in Biochemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), did Post-Doctoral trainings at the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) in Brazil and at Harvard Medical School in Boston, U.S.A. His main research interest is Protein Engineering applied to the development of new varieties of enzymes for industrial use.
 


 

 

 

Alysson R. Muotri, Ph.D. - Neuroscience and  Stem cells


Alysson R. Muotri, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at University of California, San Diego. His main research interest is  understanding the formation of brain complexity by the activity of mobile elements in the genome. He earned a BSc in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and earned his PhD in Biology Genetics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

 

   Leo Iwai, Ph.D. - Proteomics                                                           
Leo Iwai, Ph.D. is a Chemist and received his Master’s Degree and Ph.D. from Sao Paulo Federal University in Molecular Biology. He is currently a research scientist at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. His research interest has been focused on proteomic analysis of immunological events in autoimmune and infectious diseases.

 

  Fabio Passetti, Ph.D. -  Bioinformatics

 
Fabio Passetti, Ph.D. leads the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the National Cancer Institute (INCA) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  He earned a BSc in Biological Sciences from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) and then he earned his MSc and PhD degrees in Bioinformatics from the University of São Paulo (USP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His main research focus is the integration of genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data aiming to find new molecular markers for cancer.

 

Thomas Wurdinger, Ph.D. - Cancer Genetics

 
Thomas Wurdinger, Ph.D. is the co-director of the Neuro-oncology Research Group at the VU University Medical Center in  Amsterdam, Holland. He is also a research fellow at the Molecular Neurogenetics Unit in the Massachusetts General Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. His main research interests are understanding the complexity of brain tumors and the identification of targets for cancer treatment.
